A Moment of Magic TCU is dedicated to harnessing the power of play to spark joy, foster connection, reduce isolation, and support the mental health and emotional healing for medically vulnerable children and their families.

We have proudly served the greater DFW area since 2022 by engaging students at Texas Christian University. Together, we bring moments of magic, hope, and healing to children when they need it most.

Childhood cancer is on the rise. Since 1975, diagnoses have increased by over 40% and that’s not a trend we can afford to ignore.

That’s why A Moment of Magic is proud to be a founding partner of the Childhood Cancer Prevention Consortium, a historic coalition of leading organizations committed to one bold goal: stopping cancer before it starts.

Led by experts in science, medicine, and public health, this consortium is developing an actionable national prevention strategy, one rooted in environmental health, early detection, and bold innovation.

As our Executive Director, Kylee McGrane-Zarnoch shared: “The rising rates of childhood cancer are a public health crisis, and we cannot afford to treat prevention as optional or narrow.”

Together with PREP4Gold, Swifty Foundation, B+ Foundation, KOA Strong, Children’s Environmental Health Network, Joey’s Wings, and the American Childhood Cancer Organization, we are fighting for a future where fewer children are diagnosed and where every child has the chance to grow up.

Our flagship program brings beloved characters to children as part of trauma-informed, play-based healing. Magic Makers—trained in child development, emotional regulation, and dignity-centered care—collaborate with hospital teams and caregivers to reduce anxiety, foster joy, and support each child's circle of care.

Targeted Intervention Program

Express, Create, Heal is a peer-led, trauma-informed program for children affected by cancer, developed with mental health professionals to address grief, anxiety, identity, and more. Through storytelling and creative expression, children ages 3 to 18 engage in guided activities that foster belonging and emotional resilience during a time of profound upheaval.

AMoM Unlimited
Virtual Programming

AMoM Unlimited is a free, on-demand digital library designed for medically vulnerable children who can’t receive in-person visits. With storytimes, themed activities, and uplifting videos led by trained volunteers, the program delivers play-based healing anywhere—removing barriers and ensuring every child can access the magic.
